Picaroons Headquarters
Essentially an abandoned and overlooked gem of a structure, this 1885 red brick former railway roundhouse and machine repair shop has been given a new life. It is fully restored and expanded with a contemporary wing, all to house a new brewery facility and head offices for Picaroons – one of Canada’s finest microbreweries. Sited in Devon, alongside the Trans-Canada Trail at the confluence of the Nashwaak and Saint John Rivers, the building is geared to be a new hub of activity for Fredericton’s North side. It will house all of Picaroons’ brewing capacity, storage facilities and offices, alongside public facilities such as a large community room, display areas, washrooms for the adjacent park, public flex space, public space for cyclists and pedestrians, beer garden, amenities for public tours, beer tasting, and indoor concerts.
