Monica Adair & Stephen Kopp
Acre Architects, founded by Architects and partners, Stephen Kopp and Monica Adair now call Atlantic Canada home to build their growing practice but have kept their original ethos of teamwork, relationship building and hard work to create a practice where clients can still talk to the partners directly and with the importance of inspiring our own stories, developing our own identities, and encouraging our clients to believe they create projects of international distinction from right here in the Maritimes.
Twice named one of the top emerging firms in Canada by Twenty + Change, Monica holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto, and is co-founding partner of Acre. Before starting the Acre, Monica worked at award winning firms in New York (SOM) and Toronto.
An advocate for the arts and lover of all things adventurous, Monica is passionate and excels at bringing meaning to architecture. She understands the architectural process to be a constant interplay between reason and intuition.
Named one of the countries ‘brightest style setters’ by the Globe & Mail, Stephen holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto. Before starting the Acre, Stephen worked at award winning firms in Germany, New York (SOM) and Toronto.
Stephen’s design vision is to produce architecture that is regionally powerful and environmentally responsive. He is motivated by collaboration, craft and material-driven design.
