Stephen Kopp, Architect, LEED AP

Stephen is a co-founding partner of Acre Architects based out of Saint John, New Brunswick – twice named one of the top emerging firms in Canada by Twenty + Change. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba.

Before starting the Acre, Stephen worked at award winning firms in Germany, New York, Toronto and most recently, in Saint John at Murdock and Boyd Architects where he was Project Architect for an elementary school renovation that won the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Architecture in New Brunswick.

Recipients of the Sheff Visiting Chair in Architecture at McGill University School of Architecture in Montreal, Stpehen and Monica were awarded the Sheff award for part-time teaching. They were also recently selected to be part of ‘Team Canada’ for the 2012 Venice Biennale in Architecture.

Stephen’s design vision is to produce architecture that is regionally powerful and environmentally responsive.  He is motivated by collaboration, craft and material-driven design.
